Did the stupidest thing today while washing my car..
Don't think it would stand up unless you have the repair requests documented though. I learned this the hard way when one of our kids got their fingers smashed in crappy windows at a previous house. We had told the landlord on numerous occasions that the windows just fell shut (and they were some of the heaviest windows I've ever came across...metal frames, double pane glass...no vinyl at all to be found). After the incident happened and we had to make a trip to the ER to get the fingers X-ray'd and bandaged up (luckily no broken fingers...just deep cuts) we consulted an attorney and he said we could pursue it, however without written requests it's just a case of our word against his on the operation of the window.
Can't say I've ever left the wipers up...but I've shut a socket set in the hood before though. Good ol' Craftsman set...caved in the strut mount cover real nice but that was about it...didn't bend the hood.

another stupid thing...

Thats what i get for rushing. Im usually great at parking but i wasnt paying attention to the passenger side.
pics later. Needs a repaint/bondo

man that sucks... I did something like that before in my old Grand Prix GT.... somehow though on that car it didn't really bother me that much
not NEARLY as much as it would bother me had it happened to my Max.

Im having a bad day. I think its since the morning cuz i woke up, slipped on a step and gashed my head. My bio-rhythm is really off.
this really pisses me off. So much for having the cleanest mint-condition max @ 66k miles...
Haha I did the exact same thing! I washed my car and so the wipers were up and so I decided to clean the inside of my engine a little and opened the hood with the wipers up................................................ ............. thank goodness I am a slow poke at everything so I opened the hood slowly and it only pushed the wipers back down only small scratch on wiper from the hood but thats it. Thank goodness!
I just took off the wiper arms to paoint them.
As I was putting the passenger side one back on, I dropped the 14mm bolt. I can't find it. I drove back and forth on my driveway, and it didn't fall out. I really hope the hardware store has one - it's kinda weird shape.

People do things like this all the time. When I had my Maxima it needed a battery belt. I trimmed down the metal part of it and my Dad shut the hood. We thought it'd be fine, we had a little ding in the hood from then on. We had to cut it again obviously. Crap happens.
I was over at my mother-in-laws one day to help her and parked in front of the closed garage door. She was so appreciative that I was helping that she offered to go out and get lunch. She opened the garage and proceeded to back into my max. Scraped bumper, damaged qtr panel, cracked headlight and marker light.. fun times.
Wow, i thought I was the only one to do that, lol....I left my oil filler cap behind the valve cover...
Only reason I discovered it while I was driving I heard the rattling and thought something was broken....
...
I once was out on my lunch break from work and on my way back I stopped at a gas station to fill up (back in the good ol' days of gas costing less than $1.20 per gal!!!). Well I got out I saw that I was to far up, so I get back in and back up, but left the door open because what could happen, I'm only moving 2 feet at the most. Well my door hits the yellow concrete pylon, knocking it off the hinge and damaging the latch so that I couldn't get the door to stay shut. I had to lift the door up to close it , then take a bungie cord to fasten it closed. Cost me $300 & some change to replace the hinge, the latch, and fix the crease where the door met the pylon, plus drive back to work in the rain with the windows (front & rear driver's side) down.
