Anyone Try Repairing a Hanshin Ignition Power Transitor

These are also called ignitor or ignition module and run $100 to $150 new. This is for a second gen but I would think this Hanshin brand would have the similar construction. Power transistors are available from Radio Shack, Allied or Digi-key for a $3-5, so on an older Max it might make sense.

If you're able to get it apart and stripped down to where you can repair it without destroying the whole thing, then sure, you could do it.

Just have to make sure the replacement part you're buying conforms to the ratings of the OE part, or you may very well be replacing it again in short order.

depends on what's broken inside it.
It's usually NOT the power transistor part of the circuit.

What part of the circuit have you found that fails?
