Just shaved my bulb *****

Took me like 10 mins to do. Wanted people who havent done this to know that you don't have to go through the pain of removing the sidemarker. The bulbs are fairly accesible. Also the bulb stays in the socket perfectly unlike I remember some people saying.

I just did this yesturday! Got some Xenon superwhites from the local rip off performance shop and filed the top **** down on the 1157 bulb the put it in backwards.. so much brighter! They are whiter then my headlights, lol... i need some decent headlight bulbs.

The right bulb is fairly easy to get to... but the ****ing left one is a pain!!!! I scratched myself all up trying to reach in there with 2 fingers and twist it! Combined with cold weather and it being dark outside, u couldn't do it in any better conditions

really though, it's worth it!

Took me lets see less than 1 minute to do it with a rotary tool from craftsmam same as dremel. I also did it to the yellow rear lights since I cleared them out. They werent bright enough in yellow. Now they are. Easiest mod ever and is great for the front. Except one of the sides is a paing to get into.

You know some light bulbs on the side one nipple is higher than the other? well if you shave the nipple thats higher and install them backwards your corner lights next to your headligst will be brighter thats what we are talking about. I also did it to the yellow bulbs for the rears those were the only bulbs they had and they werent bright enough as well now they are..

What rear bulbs are you talking about? The rear sidemarkers in the tail light?

the ones that you use for your blinkers. If you havent cleared out the rear corner lights the current bulbs you have in there are clear but if you dont want a ticket from some bored cop go on ahead and put the yellow ones after you clear out your rear lights. Just happens that I bought some that had the nipple higher than the other and when I installed it it wasnt that bright so I shaved that higher nipple and there it was a brighter yellow turn signal. I have a 98 max
Now you know which ones?

so you got some 1157 instead of 1156 bulbs and use the higher wattage fillament for your turn signals, gotcha... . Good idea. Whats is the wattage of a 1156 bulb?

I tried to get them off for about 20 mins, but then I realized that I could do what I need with out getting them off and possibly cracking them.

dude, it takes 5 minutes tops to take out both sidemarkers and u can take a pair of snips to cut the nub off of the bulb instead of sanding it forever.

Does this work on a '95?

I've always wondered if this mod would work on a '95...just shave off the nipple and flip it, right? I would love to have bright clearance lights all the time, instead of just when i'm turning. Does anybody know if this gets too hot, maybe it's bad for the wiring harness or something? Thanks!

Peace

I was just thinking about this...I can't imagine that people passing you on a two lane road when dark would appreciate the bright light...I love the way it looks, but I don't want to **** anybody off on the road...

Oh well! I'm off to shave my nipples!

Peace
