Friends made fun of me for having a Maxima and now they want one. lol

I have 2 friends that ragged on me for having a Maxima because I called it fast or quick and a really good sports Sedan that can beat almost anything for cars in its class and price.

I have got it all from them. Maxipad, Grocery getter. Family Sedan. etc etc. but funny that a family sedan can walk Mustang foxbodies. huh?

Then I started to tell them how good the prices are on these cars and how easy they are too find in 5spd. Then, I let him drive it and he was like Holy awesome throttle response! I was like. I know. lol

I remember looking at the Maxima a few years ago, and I liked them, but bought a different car instead. Recently though I was looking for a new car, my gf mentioned the new Maxima's, and took it out for a test drive, and the rest was history.

I love when the tough-guys in my town take their girlfriends out in their Mustangs and my "family car" walks away from them in front of their girls.

Yea pretty much same thing here. I have had a 2nd gen also and boy did i get clowned for that. But oh well I know what I like and the Max is it. I never thought a 4dr car could be this fun or invigorating to drive. I taught myself a lesson.

Maxima's are the fastest grocery getter out there. Maxima's are a sweet ride. I do enjoy my 04 SE.

I've been getting crap from my Honda friends all day about "Why would you mod a Max? They're not even that good looking..." etc. etc.

I personally like the look. And I'd take the VQ35 over the Prelude's engine any day.

i used to enjoy beating up on GTO's, SRT-4's, Stangs, and even a Z06 when i had nitrous on my car. the looks on people's faces were priceless. i didn't catch a lot of crap from my friends because they knew about the car.
best comment i got before a race "man my mom drives one of those, it's slow" after that race "i think i need to trade cars with my mom"
my favorite part is that one time i was running a 240 when i had a 4rth gen and was beating him by bout 2 or 3 cars and he was the one that got pulled over and got the ticket.
or when i got pulled over for a light being out and the cop asked me what kind of car it was, then told me it looked real nice and clean.

No one made fun of mine, I gotten many props from people @ local race tracks (ones with turns) that the Max was able to spank many cars... I actually got into it with a few C6 and C5 Vettes @ Gingerman a few years back. My car : full bolt on 240+WHP VQ-DEK, stripped interior GXE, Quaife LSD, Brembo GT brake kit, huge sticky Toyos on super light Volks, Corbeau race seats...

Now I get made fun by EVOs and STis.... but their smack talk is over the minute I dump my clutch. And funny noises happen under the hood VR6 + Cosworth = <3

Nobody has made fun of my car, and I havent met a car that could beat me on the street yet (only had the max like a month). Im just praying that I get to race a bmw or golf gti, something that might give a challenge. I like to say that my max eats preludes and ***** civics. lol

Pay no attention to the smack talkers. Every person who drives a particular car talks smack about other makes and models. I have a 1998 Cobra, a 1990 GT and an '89 LX. The latter two are probably going to a guy in trade for his 1996 Max SE as I need a commuter and he wants a drag car (the LX is a parts car). I have a few friends with Camaros, an Evo, a few Vetts, well crap a little bit of everything. The point is if they are true friends and car enthusiasts they will appreciate your car for what it is. Yea we all rib each other about our cars, but its all in good fun. At the end of the day though we laugh at the other people who don't get it.

i have a story about a friend of mine in a GSR swapped DA, who talked endless **** about the way he was going to destroy my car, it runs 16s stock and his car runs 14s and went on and on and on, like non-stop. so i ran him he couldnt even pull one damn inch on me unless he jumped, I pulled on him hard. After that he was mad humble, and alot of my friends actually took notice, no more BS from them about anything.

all i said is "yeah, but notice out of everyone here im the only one that owns a V6 car and it has more litres than anyone else, my bottle of pepsi has more litres than your cars"

that was the end of that, i still see some of them today and none mention it
