thermometer for the car

I would like to get an outside digital thermometer hooked up somehow inside the car. Does anyone have any good suggestions, including where to buy them? It is very handy to know the exact temperature, to help in deciding if there could possible be ice on the roads. I plan to move to colorado to go to college, so this would be even more helpful there.

Also, I saw an advertisement for a rear view mirror that had a build in thermometer. I would love to get one of those, if I can find one that is relatively inexpensive.

I'm just doing a little research for a christmas present to from my parents.

I have an indoor/outdoor unit on my dash to the left of my gauge pod. I have the outside sensor setup inside my left fender tucked away so it down't get wet. If you put the sensor anywhere else, it will not pick up the outside air correctly.

I have this gauge for the same reason you are looking to get one.

i go to school here in colorado...you really don't need a temperature gauge because you WILL know if there is ice on the ground or not...it gets pretty chilly here. the temperature might not be below freezing, but the wind is a killer!

Around here (Boston) it can be foggy and cold at the same time causing black ice to build up. The temp guage is a good tool to have.
