ATF and tranny cooler question

is there a certain "nissan recommended" ATF that I need to get? Im about to install a cooler and was wondering if I should just get the pepboys ATF or if I would have to get some from Nissan.

another thing- do I really have to mount the cooler to the condenser? can I just mount it behind the bumper area infront of the stock tranny cooler?

Dextron III ATF is what your Maxima uses. You do not have to use Nissan ATF.

As for mounting, it is easiest to mount to the condensor. At first I was afraid it would hamper AC performance, but it doesn't. I drove for hours in 110 degree weather and the AC kept me cool in my black Maxima with the fan set on 1!

Yo need to use Dex III but can use Dex II.

I mounted my tranny cooler in front of my condensor. I use a Haydens 403x cooler. It requires an additional quart of tranny fluid.
