Please help...Installed stillen intake and loss power!!

Hey fellas,

I bought a stillen intake and a Y-pipe for my 2K maxima. Had both pieces installed and after a week or so i noticed a an adequate drop in power. It doesn't push me in the seat like it did with the factory air box and y-pipe. When i'm in second and give it some gas, the car hestiates then gradually starts moving faster. It seams to me that the stillen intake is not getting adequate air flow. I did not do the "OSCAI" but i just have the intake by itself. My max is automatic and when i'm climbing a "slight" incline i also noticed a loud tick coming from the engine. Did anyone experience anything similiar to this?? If you guys have ANY suggestions on what this could be or how i can fix this problem i really would appreciate it!

thanks for any and all suggestions!!

Use the SEARCH. This has been discussed to death. The popcharger (stillen) takes away from your low end. I know it sucks.

The Y, i'm not sure about, can anyone answer this.

I think the loss is worth the cool growl tho. Becuase sometimes the lag isn't their off the line for me! But it ALWAYS seems to be there when I'm racin or tryin to impress buddies

Nope.

But I can live with the loss because it's a lot faster up top ... and especially since you got the y-pipe.

What grade of gas are you using?

91+?? Sound like you got some bad gas. The ticking sound is the engine knocking and the ECU is retarding the timing.

Your going to notice the gains in the 5000+ and especially just before and on redline. If you don't redline your car all the time it might be better to have an OSCAI to keep your low end power.
