How to get a broken Maxima key on a key ring?

The key fell on the pavement and broke. Any ideas of how to get the key back on the key ring? Drilling is probably not an option as there is an immobilizer chip inside.

Anyone know of any key cases to buy that will do the job?

Sand or cut off the loop part and drill a hole on the opposite side of the chip.

Thats what I did!

Look next to the metal key, you'll see a small cut out area. That's where the chip is.
Plenty of room to drill a hole up top.
