Windshield Replacement ?'s.. Auto dimming mirror

I have a 20 inch crack in my windshield and I have an appointment to get this replaced on Friday. I want to make sure that the shop orders the correct glass before I get there. I have an 07 SL, with a compass/auto dimming mirror. On the glass there is a checkboard section that comes down behind the mirror. I doubt they will give me OEM, but I'd like to call them and explain what I currently have. Anyone know if this is essential to the mirror working correctly?, what this is called ? or if it is necessary on the new windshield?

Thanks.

Nissan doesn't make glass, they build cars. You will get the correct windshield as long as you tell the glass company what options you have.

you are correct, Carlite(Carlex) made the OEM glass that was installed by Nissan (the car builder)

The insurance company didn't ask what options I had, so I guess I'll call and make sure that is on file.
