WD-40 on clutch

Now this may be a stupid question. For the past couple hundred miles my clutch has been starting to slip, and getting worse. A cousin of mine - a Dean's list student at New England Tech majoring in automotive - told me spraying some WD-40 on the clutch disk will help it to bite down while im waiting for a new one.

Am i the only one that thinks it will do the opposite? Anyone else heard/done this?

Do yourself a favor and never let him work on your car once he graduates.

It's baby powder, NOT wd-40. But yeah, baby powder is a temp fix often seen done @ the strip.
