Be Very Careful

if you don't know me read the reply i gave to "...maxima see going to import daze..." anyways i just wanted to say that all the maxima drivers better watch out for the Acura type-s's. i beat one a couple weeks ago after work. in fact it was a fellow employee of nakayama racing. you might of heard of him. he drives a black lowered one with stillen front lip, etc. anyways i beat him by like 2 cars and was still pulling. once VTEC came in at about 47-4800 hundred i just pulled away from him. i just waved at him and kept going. now don't get me wrong chris's car is pretty quick--but not quick enough. and talk about no body roll. that car is as tight as a ferrari or something. well anyways i'll see you at work tomorrow chris.

by the way don't get mad i'm only speaking the truth.

Lasttime I checked, CL-S and TL-S's don't run 14.3 bone stock.

Maybe that type S emble can give him more power. Hey maxkiller try ordering more type S embles than you can probably beat corvettes and stuff. We proved that embles are good for 5 hp a piece. So let say you put 12 of them on. Anywhere is fine. Than you can add 60 hp to your acura. I like the car but for some reason I don't get why we have the rival going on with the acura. Hey our cars are about 10k cheaper. For 10k we can get mods that will be good for running a ferraris. By the way I have to check into the CL forum maybe someone has already beaten a Ferrari.

Actually, if you stick them on your wheels, your car will handle a lot better, too.

Then you can even OUT-HANDLE a Ferrari in the twisties, too.

Fact is, stop talking trash. You fear the 2K2 Maximas. Period.

Maxkiller: don't be so sure about Maximas fearing the TL-S...

I've got a 2K 5 spd and a 2k2 TL-S (both stock)...the difference isn't as much as you would think, and the 5spd Max feels just as quick as the TL-S to 60 mph, even quicker off the line. Obviously, mods will change the picture.

The TL-S is quick, but I've test driven the the 2k2 6 spd, and the Max will put a hurt on the TL-S for sure.

Errr, correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't RSX Type S's in the same class as WRX (As in, way faster than Maximas?) That's the impression I was under, was they're always comparing them together in the car mags..

I don't fear type-S's and I have an automagic. I've ran my friend's CL-S enough times to prove he doesn't have **** on me any more. Give it up.

BriGuy: 100 shot? I'm going with a 75 here in Jan. Do you have to do anything other than the fuel pump and injectors for that, besides the tranny work?

Type S

I didn't but Acura because I find a lot of Acura drivers are spoiled brats in my area. Regarding the TLS/CLS, I find the CLS better looking. I do prefer 4 doors however.

Before getting my 2002 6 speed I had a 99SE. Very nice, looks good, and after 2.5 years I got the new lease. I also tested the IS300, TLS, and Altima. If I didn't get the Maxima, it would have been the TLS. The car is stylish, fast, and the SS is neat and fun. It is a few $g more than the Maxima.

Which is faster? They might be close stock to stock. When do you consider a race won? The first 5 seconds? At 40mph? 80mph? 140mph!?!
Both the Max and the TLS have something over each other. I didn't go with the TLS cuz of people in their forum complaining about the tranny, rotors, etc. Having said that I frequent the TLS/CLS forum cuz I do like the cars, and find I learn something interested from there also.

Now there are rumours of a 295 TLS/CLS in the near future. There are also upgrades available from Rick Case in Florida that will make the car haul. That is great. Sometimes when I race I win, other times I lose. Not a big deal if I do lose because your car is a part of your life that is important to you. But you also have your wife, job, family, dog, house, blah blah blah to be happy about. I don't get to wind-up if someone beats me by 3/4 of a car length.

As I said, my second choice behind the Max would be the TLS. After that, it would be the Altima or CLS. I have no regret getting my Majestic Blue 6 speed. I might put in a CAI, and some sways. Don't plan to spend too much more cuz a car can never be fast enough. It is a never ending chase if one always want something better. A car would not kick you if you check out other cars. On the other hand, if your gf/wife sees you checking out another woman, wham!!

Be content with what you have. Put some $$ into investments, retirement plan. Go read the Rich Dad, Poor Dad book.

I don't know about newer or faster Japanamation TLS/CLS that jump tall buildings in a single bound but the TLS that I've ran against only beat me by .05 in the 1/4. I'm slower than the average maxima(I30) but I would imagine I would've done better with non lead lined rims(MOMO). So, don't lose sleep over this match up.
RSX-s its not any faster than the TLS I don't see many of them up my way so expect to much out of them. I live in the land of the Dodge neon with dual exhaust and stage 3 wings.
