LED Modders Plz help.

im planing on doing blue leds. all over the interior. including dash and speedo. i can do all the work myself but i need sum1 to tell me what leds / resistors i need exactly. where they can fit, and where is the best place to buy em.

Your cheapest bet would be ebay. Use http://ledcalculator.net/ to calculate what resistor you need using the led specs listed from whereever you are buying them from.

On the 4th gen window switches you don't need resistors, I would assume the 5th gen wouldn't be any different.

If you order off ebay for the LEDs, you need 3mm and 5mm sizes, they will usually come with the Resistors that are good for your LEDs. I would look for some with a Flat top as it helps to not create hotspots and tend to give you a wider angle and better output.

Like it was said above you don't need resistors for the door switches but for the climate control you do. I don't have steady hands in fact I'm like Micheal J. Fox on caffeine. So I had a friend soldering the resistor really close to the LED.

Resistor on the positive side btw

Sanding the leds also helps with the hotspot issue

I used 3mm & 5mm Mcd leds, resistors would be 470 ohm 1/8W, check out the link below and see the list of exact leds I used.
