I stopped by the Bob Howard Nissan dealer after I went to Infiniti and they had 6 six-speed SE Maximas. I was surprised. They were priced from $26,500 to $32,000.

They are rare! I had heard that among the
80,000 2k2 Maximas only 5%-10% will be
6 speeds. My local dealership was supposed to get one by October/November,
but it never came in. I'm surprised that
your local dealership has SIX of them!

Can't you tell by the price, 32,000 for a Maxima???

Who would ever pay that much? Some dude was showing off at work Friday, he just picked one up. It looked not too good imho, it was dark by 4:45 pm so yes I noticed the xenons, but besides that it looked like a 2000-2001 Maxima. 32 grand? Yipes. I mean c*ipes! I might be cut from a different cloth but in 3 years that look has not grown on me, and I do think looks matter, especially when you're gonna shell out more than 1/3 of your annual salary on a car. Right now Audi A4 takes the prize in the 35k range.

They seem really scarce here in the Triad area of NC. My local Nissan dealer has a ton of automagic Maximas and Altima 3.5 SE 5-spds but I have yet to see one 6-spd at my dealer or any dealer within a ~60 mile radius. I thought most allocations were based on sales but the volume dealer near my parents are unable to get 6-spd Maximas either.

Thats about 3hrs from me, but once I can test drive a HLSD 6-spd, and if I like it enough to spend the next 4-6 yrs owning one, then i'll go wherever I can get the best deal.

I live in Greenville, tested the white 6-sp. The dealership has changed owners recently, to bad, I knew the previous owner quite well and I helped him sell a few Maxs and Altimas. There are currently 2 6-speeds on order w/hlsd that I arraged. They were sold for very reasonable $$$.

If you wanted a 6sp and can't find one in your area, most dealers will
let you order it from the factory. Ofcourse, the paperwork would be
a pain in the a$$. You do have that option. Some dealers will
discourage you from ordering from the factory so be careful.

For 4th gen, I thought only 2% were 5spd.
