Help! I have a check engine light problem that keeps coming back. I have a '96 GXE. So far the dealer has not been able to solve the problem. So far, over five visits, they have replaced in this order -- the air intake sensor, EGR solenoid, back pressurevalve, and lastly the EGR valve. Each time the check light stayed off for a few days them came back on. The last time the dealer kept the car for a week of testing and the chief mechanic took home overnight to be try and be sure they were fixing the right thing. Then it came back on!!! ANY ideas??

 

did u see the engine light turned on after u install a mod?

 

No. However the first time it came on I filled up with regular gas and I had been using premium. However, it came on later regardless of gas type.

u can actually try to do the diag ur self, follow the ecu sticky in the general forum.

 

The light went on just before I brought it in for the 60K tune up a few months back. That is when they first didn't fix it.
