Intake Question (PR CAR & SI Hybrid)

Will it do me any good to use the upper portion of the PR CAI with the Stillen Cone Intake. If not I'll just sell the CAI.

Thanks.

I think this will give you a slighlty deeper "growl" at WOT but will not matter much, if at all, performance wise.

Are you talking about just using the TB piece of the CAI and bolting the Stillen/JWT intake to the MAF (TB piece + MAF + Stillen/JWT)? Or are you talking about using the entire CAI replacing the cylindical K&N filter that comes with the CAI with the Stillen/JWT stack (CAI TB piece + MAF + CAI fender well piece + Stillen/JWT)? If it's the former, I don't think it'll be any different than if you had the Stillen/JWT only without the CAI TB piece(maybe louder). FWIW, if it's the latter, I would recommend trying it. I did and it definitely seemed to be better (especially low-mid) than the basic PR CAI setup, IMHO.

Nope, the former. I was thinking that putting in the upper PR peice and removing the stock resonator may help flow.

From what I heard from people who actually did that, no difference was observed performance-wise. However, they did say it was a little louder which, depending on your persuasion, is a good thing.

Interesting. Thanks for the info. Now I have to decide if loud is what I want...
