ok, I have had my max for about 4 months now and have been reading this BBS since before I got it. Here is the deal, I ran into a streetpole tonight goin who knows how fast. THere doesn't appear to be any mechanical damage, just a BUNCH of paint got chipped off the front bumper, its like one HUGE rock chip. Also, the frong part of my blinker assymbly seperated from the side portion so now it wouln't stay in.

So what I'm asking is about how much will it run me to have it fixed the RIGHT way. Also, how much would a set of clear corners run while I'm at it.

btw- I might have hit a curb too at the same time, is there anything I should look for that might have been damaged?(tires holding air so far- keeping my fingers crossed)

Clear Corners from Courtesy for $45~ and a new bumper cover from Courtesy $150~, then $75 for a good body shop to paint it.

If you hit the curb, you might have a bent wheel, which will create terrible vibrations. You might also have bent suspension parts.

Thanks for all the quick info, after driving it today I don't think there is any mechanical damage to the car, the tiers are still holding air and I couldn't notice any vibrations anywhere from 0-70mph. Also my alignment seems to actually be BETTER than before.

one quick question though, the bumper isn't dented AT ALL, just a bunch of paint got chipped off, so would a body shop be able to paint the existing bumper w/o me having to get a new cover?

thanks.

Yeah, no problem. It probably won't be any cheaper than painting a whole bumper cover, since they will have to do some refinishing to make it look right, but it would definitely be cheaper than replacing it.
