Does anyone know if the 4th gen and 5th gen use the same alternator? A friend of mine has a freshly rebuilt 4th gen alternator that he will give me if it works in my 5th gen. Before I rip out the unit from my car to physically compare, I would like to verify that they are the same thing.

Did a search on ebay for 5th gen alternators & the result were 2000 to 2003 are the same

 

Yup they're the same.
