I put my stock muffler back on last night (leaving my UR, WSP Y-pipe & CAI, Courtesy B-pipe) and the car is as strong as when I had the Courtesy muffler on (for 95-99 straight thru stainless steel muffler). Best of all, the car is QUIET. All I hear is the intake at WOT and all the other noise I could not hear when the muffler was on.
Now if I could find a nice tip to finish my set-up...

Yep, I saw no drop in et or trap speed with the stock muffler. Most importantly, no more resonating. For a cleaner look, I painted my muffler flat black and I added a very tasteful 3" straght cut stainless tip.

5th gen muffler

I reserve the right to be wrong but,......I spoke to the mechanic at my local Nissan dealership, York Nissan in York, PA. The mechanic told me that the 5th generation muffler is a Variable muffler. The greater the quantity of air, the more the muffler opens up. Similar to a valve.

Again.....I reserve the right to be wrong!

yes that is true BUT no one is sure if there is an actual gain more than 1-2hp.

Supa Lao-

Been checking this site out for a few weeks. I started a thread a few weeks ago about any members from Central PA!

I live in York and work in Camp Hill.

Just started modding my Max-----------

Where you at?
