Ok heres the deal, I pulled in front on the smoke shop to let my bud out to grab smokes, just after I pulled in I noticed it was handicapped. I let my friend get out and I went to pull out and a Motorcycle cop had pulled in behind me and ended up giving me a ticket. Now I was in the car and the engine was running for the entire 60 seconds I was sitting in the spot. I didnt notice it was Handicapped because it was dark, raining and an USV was in the spot just before the one I pulled into. And by keeping me there for the ticket(10 min) I was in the spot 10 times longer than I would have been.

Now my question is do youthink I have a chance with this in Court?

 

the parking cop prob won't show...that was the case when the soon-to-be-ex got her $250 ticket for parking in a handicapped spot. You can always explain that you couldn't see it...take pictures if you can (only if it can show that the place wasn't clearly marked) and claim it was an honest mistake...good luck.

 

but I seem to remember that in Drivers Ed. in Cali they said that if you are in the car and the car is running then you are not considered parked. Oh well, I am thinking that unless the Cop doesnt show I will end up paying. the judges never seem to go against what the cop says.

 

where I used to work, we had a no parking zone out front. Moto cops would come by and ticket anyone parked there. But if a person was in the car he would just tell them to leave. I don't think you're "parked" if your car is on and you're in it, you're just "stopped"
