I was searching through old threads to see if this had already been addressed, but I couldn't find it.

Does anyone have experience with the Cattman cold-air intake? It looks like he just put one out for the 2000/2001 I30.

Any comments/concerns about quality, install, or performance gains/losses? On either the Max or I30, doesn't make a difference to me.

cattman usually puts alot of time into their products.....it should be a good buy

 

I have one and it is very high quality. Cattman doesn't **** around.

 

Cattman's intake is also more commonly known as the Place Racing Intake.

They just use different clamps from what i understand.

 

yep place racing makes the pipes and cattman supplies it with their own clamps. or buy it directly from place racing. same deal.

I have one and really like it. It was a VERY tight fit but is a quality product, that includes all the parts you need (but a hole saw). you have to cut a 3" hole in your fender and you have to remove the bottom of the fuse box for the tube to fit. On some cars the filter rubs in the wheel well. SOme people don't like that.

its makes your engine louder at idle (alittle) and it sounds great at high rpm's

 

yeah - cattman and the place racing cai are the exact same product...... if u buy direct from cattman you will save about 20 bucks though compared to other competitors.
