its not solid analysis.. i was talking to the guy at my performance shop and i told that my car was running rough.. and at one point it was ticking.. then he said its ither valve spring or bent valve..

i dunno exactly what it is.. it might be somethign simple.. but they would have to pull the engine down to find out.. so i dunno.. spring time i will deal with it..

Bent valve on a VQ ? How the hell ?
Thought the VQ ECU was smarter than that...I think all you'll need is a head job...might as well have everything done on intake manifold and TB.

Project SprintMax ?

I see bent valves on Honda Accords, automatic ones ...balance shaft seal leaks, gets oil on timing belt, push the engine too hard, timing belt teeth jump a few on the crankshaft, and then its all over... new head...

running rough ? Ticking ? Valve lash adjustment...the way you beat the snot out of your car... I think its just valve lash, the shim probably has air underneathe it. Happened on mine after autoX, and a spin out. Synthetic + 5200mi on the oil+ AutoX = 1qt short of oil as checked in the pits, didn't solve the ticking problem, found out about the valvetrain, and 6 hours of removal, joy adjusting shims, putting back together w/ new gaskets...less noise, but not as bad, as like when my car sounded like someone was knocking on the hood...

well 88 - 92 they came with VG30DE and VG30DET and 93 - 95 they came with VG30DET and VH41DE and in 96+ they had VQ30DET and VH41DE so technically they have had the heart of a maxima well half of them
