I posted looking for a used 97 to 99 Maxima SE in the forsale/wanted section. I have see wildly varying mileages on these cars. I found a garaged 97 w. 102k miles loaded leather,.....etc and he said he would most likely take 10k$ for the car and said it is "mint". Now, I know very little about the maxima engine except they are supposed to last a long time. Is 102k miles a car that will keep me happy for another 5 years? Can I still do some mods to the engine and not worry about blowing things up? I will stay n/a therefore no stress there. I appreciate everyone's help. Peace: e3 (driving a saturn rental - HELP!)

 

everything is perfect.. but the price.. you can get him down to 9000 easy with that much mileage.. but yeah.. these engine keep going.. they are great.. i have a 100 shot of NOS on mine i am at 95k

 

I finally sold my 87 Max SE a couple years ago with 233K miles on the engine. The engine was fine, it was the electrical problems that killed it. I agree with the other poster, you should be able to find one for around $9000, but all things considered, the engine should be fine with that kind of milleage.
