Please tell me what this is (buttons in my car)

I just bought a Maxima which has these buttons on the dash to the left of the steering wheel. It says Vector something on the top. Does anyone know what type of radar detector it is & how much it might cost (there's also a small black box mounted on my rear view mirror that has a laser or infrared lens & another flat black box mounted beside it on the windshield maybe for GPS)??? Thanks for your help!

Google "Vector Radar Dector" and switch over to Google Images, then find the match for the faceplate.

It's the Beltronics Vector 975R Remote Radar/Laser Detector.

Probably keep cops from giving you crap in states like Virginia where they're illegal. Keep em' from being so obvious up on the windshield

ya, the install is super clean in the spot below the left-hand AC vent. thanks for the tips. i saw that it's the Beltronics Vector 975R. now i have to find a manual bc it just keeps beeping & flashing. something must be wrong. oh, there's quite a few AE's here on the island.

^^^most radar dectors pick up building alarms as well. that could be the frequent beeping you get...

"Super clean" would be to remove internals, create custom panel either with a new piece of ABS, by hacking the enclosure, or both. Finish work, hardwire and install. Not to pick bones or anything.
