Good Deal on Mobil 1 and Filter
For all of you that lives in an area with a Pep Boys,
They have a deal for 5 qts of Mobil 1 and a Mobil 1 filter for $29.99
It's for all viscosities of the standard Mobil 1. Not the high mileage stuff.
Seems like a really good deal. I can sometimes get a 5 qt jug of Mobil 1 at Walmart for about $23.50, but the filter is usually pretty pricey.
I'm pretty sure the limit is 2 so you can stock up.

How is that a good deal if it's only good for conventional oil? $30/5 = $6 per quart. Say the filter is worth $5, that's still $5 per quart. Mobil 1 isn't god's gift to lubrication, $5/qt is way too much for any conventional oil. Even if it is supposedly good for 5k miles. I'd rather spend $2 a quart and change it every 3,000.

Advance Auto runs way better deals.
Last month it was 5 quarts of Valvoline SynPower (7.99 each) & a Bosch Distance Plus oil filter (13.49) for I think $24.99?
At any rate, I'm all for saving money I suppose.
Also, shouldn't this thread probably be in another forum?

I didn't say conventional oil. I just said standard Mobil 1. As stated above all Mobil 1 is fully synthetic.
They just also have a high mileage version.
And considering it's at least $6 a quart on sale (regular price at Pep Boys is $7.50) and the Mobil 1 filter is at least $10 ($12 at Pep Boys) you are saving at least 10 bucks if not a bit more.
Just putting it out there. I don't work for them so I don't make anything.
But I am going back tomorrow to pick up another set for the next change of the wifes Odyssey.

Um Mobil 1 has always been synthetic.
I usually wait for Advanced's similar deal and grab the EP. these deals are pretty often, nothing special.

I thought you were referring to the conventional Mobil because of "standard" and "high mileage". I don't buy the stuff, slipped my mind that the "1" denotes synthetic. Such a rip off company though. What seems to be a great deal is actually priced relative to their competitors for a change.
