318 Ti S/Ced????

One of my friends has a 318 and it's supercharged. I was wondering if some came like that from the factory????? Also, what would they possibly run in the 1/4? It's auto, think I could take him? I'm auto too. It's a little roots type blower, really small looking stitting on top his 1.9L..........Anyone ....???

it's prolly not factory supercharged. it's most likely aftermarket...

my girlfriend has the 318ti 5 speed and it does not come with S/C factory. it adds 50% more hp to them. it still will not beat a max if its a autovs5 speed but close. also early 96 and below have 1.8s and late 96 and above 1.9

It is definitely aftermarket. It's probably a Downing Atlanta system. It pumps the horsepower up to 190-200hp, with a similar gain in torque.

I've heard of them getting similar times to a stock Maxima 5-spd, given equal drivers.

I've never heard of an auto 318 supercharged... I'm going to say Maxima just because BMW usually uses very tall gears and this would hamper the auto 318 a lot more than the auto Maxima. It would be very close though, run him and find out.
