Steering Wheel - leather

I have a 95/96 model maxima, the steering wheel is the non leather type, it's burnt from the sun and and fraying, literally falling apart, is there any possibility to get one from the states 2nd hand from a Junk yard ?
Here in Australia I'm having a real hard time trying to find one, and a new replacement less airbag is worth AUS$1200 the only other alternative is to get my one covered in leather, if anyone has done this themselves pls attach a pic.
Thanks

I dont' know about everyone else, but I don't have 400 bucks to spend on a steering wheel...when mine started to chip, I went to Advance Auto Parts and picked out a classy looking black leather steering wheel cover. Looks good, cost eight bucks, has lasted a year, no problems.

Peace

Spending $608 on a steering wheel is ridiculous ($1200 Aust), $8 sounds a heck of a lot better to me. I have the "leather" wheel that came with the 97-99 SE, and believe me, it's no big deal. 4-spoke wheels have been out of style since 1987 anyway. I'd take the Alero firm steering with the vinyl wheel over the Maxima loose steering with fake leather anyday!
