Car does not rev up

I have a 2004 Nissan maxima with 54,000 miles. The car wont accelerate and when i press the gas pedal the RPMs dont move at all the car does not rev up at all. I had the car scanned and the codes p1122 and p1126 came out i know what the codes mean but i don't know if i have them fixed would that fix the car. Also my mechanic has been trying to find the issue for the the past week and no luck so im planing to bite the bullet and let Nissan see if they could fix the problem. Would any of you guys know how much would it cost to get it fixed by the dealership. So just wanted to know if you guys could help me fix the problem. Thanks in advance. And the car is Stock no mods at all.

what ever you do just dont take it to the dealership! their repairs are overpriced and they cant fix nothing.

Just curious, have you searched?
http://forums.maxima.org/5th-generat...ggestions.html

Lemme know where you're at in the diagnostic flowchart.

BTW, if u solve this problem before your mechanic does, and before you take it to the dealership, u gotta buy a lanyard in my sig.

But are the codes the same for a 6th gen as for a 5th gen?

Are you looking for answers and want me to do the footwork, or you gonna try to solve this w/a bit of effort?

In either case, the next step is to download the factory service manual specific to your car. You wanna do it or want me to?

p1126 might be specific to 5th gens. Run your VIN on carfax to verify the year of your car.

Start on page 403. Post questions as you go through the flow charts.

P1122 is Pedal Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input, so if your throttle is controlled electronically there's a short in it somewhere.
P1126 (via Toyota) Has to do with the clutch circuit.
I know it says toyota but, engine codes widely have the same meaning. So, my guess is the computer doesn't know the pedal is being pushed and the clutch isn't getting a signal from the throttle telling it to let out.

@Maximar: pretty common problem among Nissans I guess. When you Google or Bing those codes, both search engines suggest Nissan links. Interesting... Wonder if someone wants to start a class action against Nissan? You could claim the throttle wasn't responding and the car kept accelerating. Oh wait, Toyota already did that. Nvm

Anyways, The 1126 code seems to vary depending on year and make and even model. That's why I posted a year specific maxima factory service manual above for the OP to browse through.

@N2003TE: Please visit the pdf link I posted above, then come back with questions if necessary.

Not exactly, Make sure the sensors are making a connection. The Sensor might be fine but if there's a short then the ECU may not be gettting anything from it

Hey Newbie.....

Please check the date of the post you reply to.
This thread ended in 2011. Eleven years ago.
Chances are that most of those people own other cars now. Or are no longer on this group.

Best wishes regarding solving your problem though.
