Sunroof deflectors: Yay or nay ?

My friend broke mine accidently a week ago. At first I was mad and wanted a new one, but everyone is sayin it looks better with it off. I'm kinda likin it now, more aerodynamic. How would these cost from a local Nissan dealer anyways ? Even if I don't get a new one, he still gotta fork over the greens . Opinions ?

I've got one, I like the way it looks on my Max paid about $50.00 or so at the Nissan dealer.

Personally, I don't like the way they look. FWIW, I see them all the time on Ebay for ~$25.

Ya, that would be nice.

Kev, that crease will hopefully go away with several good washes.

$25 on ebay eh? Anyone else have a OEM figure price ?

I don't like em, but they reduce the noise a lot when the sun roof is open.

well, they cost about 45-60$ new from Nissan I bought mine for like 50$ from the dealer. Back then I really wanted one because the car looked so naked, now I wouldn't buy it if i was in that position again.. After seeing other cars without them, it looks really good without it... I will probably take it off some day and tint the sunroof, it looks so much nicer when it's just tilted up a little

BTW, the ones they have on Ebay? are probably the ones like they got in Pepboys or autozone, they are the ones with the 3mm tape which you just stick on your roof and probably will never take it off.. I had this thing on my old max, it didn't look as good as a OEM one.

Re: Sunroof deflectors: Yay or nay ?

My opinion is that the car looks good with or without it. But I have tried without it and I get lots of wind noise from the roof when its closed. So I rather have it to not have that noise.

Courtesy

Mention Max.org through Courtesy, get 25% off, should be about $35.

That's what I did, but I'm local so no shipping.

I like the look better with the deflector off, but it makes a HUGE difference in how much you get blown around in the cabin and noise, so I'm not sure I could live without it now.

I'll probably take it off when it gets warm again to see. But no way I want that cold-a$$ wind in my car right now.

One BIG Nay! To me, they look like those deflectors people install on their side windows. Kind of cheesey.

I know they make the car quiet when the roof is open, what about when its close? does it make more noise because that thing is hitting the wind now?

My sentiments exactly. ...so Big NAY.
I guess the beauty of it is that you can always take it down if you don't like the looks.

Well I got some noise when the deflector was off my roof. When it was on, it was completely quiet. And this is when the roof is closed.
