ACT Clutch Installed WOW!!

I love this thing, such a difference from stock, I almost stalled the damn thing leaving the dealer, there is a little chatter but it has gone down since the install on Friday, just can't wait till I get it broke in so I can see what it will really do This thing has alot of grab in 1st and 2nd, 3rds good too, but I would recomend this clutch to anyone with a 4th gen, I have driven a 95 SE with a centerforce dual friction clutch and this one is complelty different, much better feel, oh and my clutch pedal is very light to the touch.

I drove Danhryman's (Bryan) 97 Maxima with a ACT clutch yesterday. I loved it. It was far easier to modulate than my stocker. The pedal feel is really good, clutch take up is quick yet smooth, and this thing grabs. I took 1st to 5000rpms and dumped it into 2nd and still chirped. I will definately get one of those.

for a new clutch after trying to teach 2 girls how to drive a clutch...what the HELL was i thinking... well now my clutch slips and it used to chirp the tires bigtime in second and now no chirp at all...
TO MY POINT- Where can i get an ACT clutch, How much are they, what are the other possibilities for a new clutch? Thanx...

I got mine from nipponpower.com but only because i needed it the next day, it was about $350, got to eatricezone.com and he has the act for 344 or something like that, you could get a centerforce which I think sucks, but there is also clutchmasters or you can go stock again, but I personally love this new ACT Street disc

Got mine installed and got a new rear main seal for $465

I should have done it myself, I didn't because I thought you may have to take the control arm and all that off in order to get the tranny out, but you don't, just pull the axle off and unbolt the tranny from the mount and engine and there you go, the thing only ways about 100 pounds, or so I have heard, but for 465 it's not too bad, 390 for the clutch by itself then add an extra 1/2 hour labor for the seal. but I am very pleased

Thanks for the info I was told that son of a gun is heavy but here I have a hobby shop on the Naval Base and the Base police drove by last night and told me they have a U shaped machine that will jack the tranny up and down so I will do this myself and I have no clue whats the main seal or where does that go? will it be a good Idea to change that as well while I am at it or thats just a preference thing. Thats about right for labor on a clutch. If I do myself I can spend the 500 on a stillen flywheel so to change myself it shouldnt cost me no more than $60 for 2 days of labor at the shop myself.

The rear main seal is right behind the flywheel, it may need to be replaced but for a 35 dollar part it is a good idea to go ahead and replace it though

Jamie, when you get the clutch we could do it at Matt's house. I helped him a few times with the tranny swap, so it doable just with a good floorjack.

If I was gonna pay to have them redo my clutch I would hold out for a aluminum flywheel while it is out and apart and get a whole setup with that.

I considered doing the job myself, but due to the holidays it didn't work out. I'll be picking my car up on Sat when I get back into town so I hope my experience is as good as everyone else's I just wish I had heard about the rear main seal before today After looking at all the parts I had never heard of anyone else replacing the rear main seal before. At least I came out good on Labor $300

Be glad that Phuong has good forethought and orders 10 units at a time :P When I ordered my clutch a month ago it was on backorder because ACT pressure plates were on backorder. My package was even sent directly from ACT so that I could get it sooner. I got my clutch in time for my install and am happy for my second time by Phuong's service
