HELP! TRANS ISSUE?

i was goin down the highway and i hear this bell jingling noise. and i notice it kinda goes away when i gas it and its still kinda there when i throw it in neutral. (i have a 5speed by the way) as im coming to a slow stop all of a sudden i hear slapping clunking noises under my feet like its coming from the left side as the car is rolling at like (10mph give or take) when i step on the gas it starts going away. when i got in my driveway i started creeping it a little in 1st gear and as soon as i let the clutch go and let it roll the slaping almost like a (snaping noise) came back...the diff maybe? wtf lol

Doesn't sound good, check and make sure that it's not just a CV joint.
You might get lucky there!

well i put the car up on jack stands today and let the wheel spin on 3rd gear. usually the right side will spin and the left side will not. anyway i got a stethoscope and heard rattling noise on the left side (the side that was the concern and the side that isnt moving) so it cant be a cv (most likely issue inside the trans itself) the ratteling can be heard on the axle, knuckle and the rotor but when i put it on the trans case itself all i wear is a scratching/smooth grinding noise (no rattle) i think the axle is amplifying the noise going on inside. the axle is less than a month old so another reason why it most likely isnt the issue. yea so im gonna need a trans
same thing happen to my friends jetta 2 weeks ago where it sounded like his axle cv kicked the bucket. turned out to be the trans.
