Russ, please do us all a favor ->
and don't post on other sites as the "official" representative for the Maxima community. I am not a moron and do not like being represented by...you.
Thanks!
FYI that Contour owner is full of ****, but your posts bring **** to an even higher level...

True, true.
Why is the SVT guy full of it? The only person I see full of it over there is Russ... Russ, ever driven an SVT contour? It's a pretty sweet little ride. A 5 spd maxima stock will take it in a straight line but they handle pretty good, and the shorter wheelbase gives them a big advantage in corners. And don't go spouting magazine skidpad numbers, how many times do you driver your car at a constant speed in a constant diameter circle? Slalom is a lot closer to predicting real world grip, but even then you don't get into how the car feels, how much feedback there is, and how easy it is to drive it fast.
And, you've got SVT parts you can buy and have fun with. For handling, it will kick the maximas ***. For power, we have an advantage but they have more aftermarket parts available. Hell, if it weren't for the fact that I'm not willing to subject friends to it's backseat and I really want a car with better build quality and interior refinement, I might have considered one.
Yeah, SVT contours are nice but they are Fords.........
The only american car i would even consider is a Chevy truck or muscle car! go tell the contour dude that imports last longer than domestics. just cause he bought a wannabe euro. besides Maximas are nicer interior wise and have higher resale value, most people would rather be in a new Max than a new contour. We got Stillen baby and he supports Nissans.Ford's suck (fix or repair daily). How long is his domestic gonna last? I always catch BMW guys looking at my car, i wonder if they look at contours the same.
