Maxima passed annual inspection again

She's a 1998 but still going....my BMW 335i is now 4 1/2 y.o., and we're considering getting a new GM suv because we want something with AWD before winter, and the Nissan has been making me more uneasy that it's going to need repairs at some point. But it just keeps on ticking! Still no water pump replacement yet at 206k. I think the power steering is leaking, need valve cover gaskets, crank position sensor o-ring. The only thing to get replaced over the last 2 years was the clutch hose, and we did the slave while we were at it. Clutch itself is original, been resetting the airbag computer for about 7 years now....

You can check my posts going back over 10 years, I complained about little stuff that broke when she was new. But this thing has been solid transportation for 13 years! LOL

I just bought 96 maxima with 41k yesterday. Hope it will be the same reliable as yours. Did you replace the alternator belt, power steering belt and radiator hoses for the life of your maxima?

Thanks!

My 97 has 212k miles. Still very reliable. I just have to figure out why I keep getting p0136 even though I replace the o2 sensor

I would recommend replacing the things you mentioned. It may be a 13yr old car but you can put out a couple more years.

I'm at 300k+ miles, original engine, still pulls strong and starts everytime in winter. Invest a little in your car and you can get another 100k miles out of it.

what is this annual inspection you speak of??(joking) we just have really stringent smog inspections here. seeing how some cars are over here, they may try to make us do that too every year.
