09+ Maxima would like as if it had high water pants if it had the same size tire as the 5th gen or even worse the 4th gen.

Point lost in translation, but either way, this thread was lost a long time ago.

did you have to get longer studs when you got your spacers?

where did you get your spacers? and what size are they?

i purchased some that were 5/16 or 8mm and my personal mechanic told me its junk go return it. I need a thinner tire. i e ----> l/p tire.

I currently have 215/60 R16 on the atlima.

and the wheels I want to put on it r 245/40 r19

so does it make sense to get spacers or get a l/p tire?????????

You would think that at least one of those Altima enthusiasts would be able to help you...

The only reason I'm sure those 245/40s would fit is because I have driven an 06 on 245/35 20s which is even bigger (by 1mm) than the 19s and it did not rub at all, lock to lock or over speed bumps.

You can keep that tire size if you get spacers. If you want to buy thinner tires, I don't know if it would still rub because of the offset and width of the wheel.

Did your mechanic even put one of the spacers on and see if it worked?

go to ebay and look at ichiba v2 spacers, Ive used up to 20mm with a 225/35/20 tire on 20x8 and 20x8.5 40-45 offset wheels with a 1.3~1.5 inch drop on my max before. But i only use spacers in the rear, I have never used spacers on the front because I have never found the need to.

My current setup is 225/40/18 tire on 18x8 33 offset 350z wheels and I have 15mm spacers in rear with 2.2f/1.8r drop. I never rub in front and it sits flush. The rear rubs over big dips but I only used spacers to make it sit flush with the front since the front sits out more then the rear on the maxima.

Spacers basically lower your offset (wheel sits out more) so you'll most likely rub your fender in the rear depending on your setup since fwd vehicles seem to have more fender space in front then rear. For the front its always sat pretty flush for me so i have never put on spacers and never had any rubbing because i always choose the right tire size to match my offset, width, and diameter of the wheel.

From the sounds of it your having diameter issues because of such a large tire you really should use that calculator someone posted earlier so you can compare the diameter of your 16s with tires to 19s with tires.

I'm just trying to help this guy, not calling anyone dumbasses or anything like that. Seems like you know so much about wheel fitment, Maxima King.

I'm over this, have fun with your ill-fitting wheels.

kings right again. Ya I was told wheels would fit and I was NOT told anything about tires. But I shouldve known better.

Well said^ just because the wheels fit does not mean the tires will. And in this case they DO NOT.

I think i am just going w/ l/p tires.

Spacers are not as good for the car as l/p. It puts wear on the bearings that hold the wheel on the car. And I definetly don't want to do that. So L/P is it...the issues is extinguished.

Now I just need a extra grand for tires.

There was no point. I was going to but he told me to return them..they are worthless. They were 5/16 which was not enough cleareance. And also he did not have the extended bolts so It wouldve been a double negative.

I really want to go the spacers route, because its cheaper and easier..but in the end I know its not right.

l/p tire is the right choice.

Why don't you just go on the altima forums and search for those that have 19s with similar specs and see what tire sizes they are going with for the specific look and comfort you want that way you won't waste money on l/p tires then decide later that you don't like l/p because of comfort.

check wheels/tires section if anyones interested..check sig for LINK

I am beyond frustrated with this set, decided to go with 18s from the se-r

this **** has given me a permanent headache. I might just throw the wheels on there..drive around alittle bit and see what happens. Cannot be to crushal for the cars health to test it, atleast for a 1/2 mile or mile. Going over smooth roads of course..
