slow accerlation woes?

slow accerlation woes?

ok kind o.t but my friend needs help asap.He was goin
to buy an 86 corolla to build as a drifter,well we found a
nice one which drove great but,it wouldnt go faster then
40mph or at least it felt like it lol.I mean you would floor
an nothing just VROOOOOOOM I MEAN it was speeeding up but
people on bikes were passing us!The motor wants to go fast
you can tell but all its doing is reving,o an the clutch is new!

thanks for gettin me excited somone responded,But if you had any
knowledge of these cars an 85-87 corrola gts is known as a
haichi-roku in japan an is a prime choice drifter over the 240sx
otherwise known as silvia or 180sx.This car is factory with a
high reving motor rwd an lsd also light weight.

but can you say this is not true???
most of the awesome cars that were awesome in japan, turns out to be OK in us. that's a fact!!
I think its due to all the politics & emission things
And yes I don't have any knowledge about that, that's just my OPINION, how i think

Damn! That could be a ton of things. But, if the engine is going strong ( not smoking, hesitating, stalling, etc. ) and you know it's revving ( by tach or other ) then it has to be that new clutch...
