Early thoughts about Fast & the Furious DVD

I just picked up a copy of The Fast and the Furious DVD from Wallmart and I have watched most of the extra features and some of the movie. The DVD is worth buying and the extra feature section gives a good glimpse of the Maxima as well as the other Nissan's in the movie. I just wanted to hear other people's thoughts on the dvd or things that I might have missed on it.

I get mine today!

I just wanted to have it in my collection, also I get a free NOS sticker with my pre-order. I guess this now gives my car like a 20-hp boost, woo hoo!

Having the DVD playing in your In-dash DVD player while racing someone is also good for another 20HP.

The Wallmart I went to had boxes of them. Just to be safe, I went there at 8:00am in the morning which is when they opened. I paid $27.75 Canadian including tax for my mine.

I got mine for $17.99 at Best Buy. The coupons and stuff in the DVD case are the funniest. There's a brochure for NOS nitrous kits. They have the ricer "$hit list" that shows which ricer you can slap which NOS kit, which wires, fuel rails, etc on.

I'm going to fire up the DVD in a few and see what it's got on it (yeah I'm still at work, but who cares).

i might get the dvd if the extra features are worth it. what are the extra features on it? i am wondering if there is info on all the cars that they used in movie, i dont care about the commentary and trailers and that crap. how about the deleted scenes? i heard in the commercial that there are some deleted scenes, are they good scenes, like racing scenes? i haven't bought a dvd in a while, i want to go to best buy to pick up a few, any suggestions on new dvd's, lets say some that came out in the past month or two.

No I don't have one in my car, but most showy ricer types have a PS2 and a DVD and who knows what else in their car.

Deleted scenes you say?

Each line is a different scene. That's what's on the disc.

The deleted scenes all sucked. They were just fluff, things that were luckily cut.
By the way... did it look like that max had side pipes?

Yeah, from the looks of it, the Maxima had side exhaust pipes.

yes, i noticed this a while ago when i downloaded the divx, i noticed it in the scene where the guy driving the maxima(vinny?) drove into the driveway of that guys house for that bbq they were having. i love the part where he stormed out of the bbq and did that awesome burnout. i think the movie needed more car races, and more scenes with cars, the acting was just terrible.

The DVD is awesome

This DVD is super sweet if you have a DTS home theater with some power. I knew I wasted my $$ on some good stuff, hehe.

Surround sound on this Disc is great, reference DVD.

I went to pick it up and people was literally about to fight over it. I thought I wasn't going to get a copy until I saw it in someone's buggie and snatched it. The special section is pretty cool.

Called up Target to see if they had any in stock. Funny how the guy on the other line said there were tons of it still on display. $17.99 there. I figured K-Mart would sell it cheaper, but the price they gave me was $19.99. So i went to Target and got it. I agree. They should've had more racing scenes and more Maxima scenes! I liked the burnout. that was great. The bonus stuff wasn't so great. It would've been better if they had profiles on the cars. Anyway, it's still a good part of my DVD collection.

Specs on the cars would have been more interesting than the below average deleted scenes. I was hoping that they would showcase some of the cars on the DVD... Also I didn't appreciate the some of the dialogue repeats from the cast in the commentary ... oh well, its not on my buy list.

Didn't even see one Nissan or Maxima badge in any of the bonus footage

Nope, the one near Chesapeake Square mall...Portsmouth Blvd. I went at 12:00 and there were still TONS left (like 2 display cases full of them). But to be honest I didn't even like the movie - the plot completely sucked and there weren't enough Maxima scenes. I saw about 10 guys in the parking lot watching it in one guys Civic (w/ in dash DVD). Made me laugh, becuase there were no Civics in the movie!

BTW, GXE Spoiler your car look really hot.

Actually I think it was funny that they looked under the hood for how much NOS he had. Yes, I always look under the hood to find the big bottle. (Hint: Its in his back seat!)

Cyrus: Thanks, even though I changed back to the stock wheels for the winter.

There's actually a bunch of stuff like that in the movie...like, have you ever ran a quarter mile race with your windows down? Neither have I, but apparently that's how they do it in Cali...even at Race Wars, they all left their windows down...hmmmm.

Peace

Hector drove a civic....and the white car in the street race with terreto and ja rule and brian was a civic...he actually had an in-dash DVD player, too...must be a Civic thing! Save money by buying cheap car, have money left over for DVD player.

I think the reason that they didn't really show the spec of the cars are because that the car they use are mostly stock... except few.. just add some graphics to it.. that's it..
I really hope part 2 will be much better
