I just bought my first Maxima! 2000 GLE. Ive got a lot of reading to do, can't wait to get my maintenance done so I can lightly mod.

When you do ask a question, Please tell us the year of your car, transmission and things that may be related to the question. The 2000 and 2001 are referred to as the 5th gen and the 2002 and 2003 are referred to as the 5.5 gen because there are a lot of differences.

I would advise that you download a FSM (Factory Service Manual) if you don't already have one.

There are 2 versions of the 2000 FSM, early production and late production.

Early production is VIN numbers up to YT012236, YT211680, YT527429, or YT740491.
Late production starts at YT012237, YT211681, YT527430, or YT740492.

 

congrads...ive had my 99 maxima for 4 years now only major thing ive had to replace is the tranny which is my fault from shifting in my auto lol but i love my maxima i use ta have a ford probe gt and then got a maxima...there great for dependability...have any questions let me know i know enough to help ya out if u ever need anything and there is millions of threads of great advice on how to and what knots...
