Here are some instructions to install door inserts
Here are some instructions to install door inserts
These techniques seemed to work pretty good for me.
Pre-install:
The door inserts from www.leatherseats.com are cut about 2" too big. I slowly trimmed the insert, little by little, until there was approximately a 1/2" (a little less) of material to be tucked into the gap. I then took a spoon and used the handle end to push the material into the gaps for test fitting. The handle end of a spoon isn't nearly has sharp as a flathead screw driver. You can also use the spoon itself to do some of the tucking. After everything is cut to spec, test fit it by tucking it in. After it's tucked in, take some masking tape and put it on the insert to mark the insert so that you know exactly where to place it when you've applied the glue.
Install:
Taking some packing tape and mask off ~3" of the door surrounding the factory insert. This is to protect the door from the spray on glue. Take the glue and spray it on the door. The spary the glue on the insert. Let everything sit for a couple minutes then spray them again. Let sit for another couple minutes then spray again. Remove the packing tape from the door. Now place the insert over the factory insert, lining it up with your masking tape markers, and start tucking. You don't have move at a fast pace because the glue doesn't truely setup for ~45 minutes. Once everything is tucked, start removing any left over glue that may have adhered to the door. You can use either 100% mineral spirits or you fingernail. I prefer the fingernail method. Let the insert for an hour. Recheck your inserts tucking. I used a large flathead screw driver to CAREFULLY tuck back any excess material.
Goodluck.
