Considering the Very little info given and the fact that it's in Japan, AND illigal in the USA, i'd be very surprised if someone outside of Japan even bid on it.

I'd be even more surprised if anyone in Japan bid on it. Even in Australia after compliance and registration that car would sell for no more than about 10-12k US.

It will be easier to go through the back door.

Get the car into the country somehow and bypass the Custom. Register with the DMV under a different model. Say it's a 240SX. Japanese exotic draws less attention than European ones so less chance you will run into trouble on the road.
