New Type of Intake?

I have a question...has anybody seen this type of intake before?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cg...item=600249892

I know it's for a Civic, but I was wondering if something like that could be fabricated for a Maxima...we have that big gap in the front, seems like it would yield higher gains than air from a wheelwell...who knows?

Just a thought!

I don't mean as a fake intercooler, just as an intake...it doesn't even look like an intercooler. Just trying to think of new things...

Yes I have seen it on a crx that works at nopi.

TRUST me looks like an IC. so if your not boosted I would not buy it. Good idea, it will look like your trying for something you don't have. But it's your car do as you wish

It would work great as a bug screen.

When you think about it.....

the concept truly makes no sense...its not "ram air" since the inlet hole is not directly facing forward but positioned to the left. also the piping is long as hell going to the Maf, and lastly a lexan screen covers the filter(to protect from dirt)....ummmmmmm, why cover the filter if the goal is maximum performance??? its just "ricer" eye-candy, nothing more!!! BTW, there was supposedly one for the 4th gen a year or two back, never saw it and the company is out of business last I heard!

That intake is old news.

It came out like a year ago. I forgot what the name of the original company was. Anyway, Aerospeed (FL) bought the company out or the intake design. They do have an application for the maxima. Some guy on here had that intake. It works great for GXE/GLE. The pipings got in the way for the foglight on the SE.
