Fully N/A modded 4th gen 5-speed loses to 4th gen AUTO....

So my car is pretty much back up to speed....not quite as quick as it used to be. I ran MAX2000JP(5th gen 5-speed, intake and y-pipe) today from 40-100 and we were pretty much even. (I used to pull on him about a car.)

I also ran his brother Chi99Limited (99 SE-L AUTO with intake and y-pipe) and I got KILLED...2 FREAKIN TIMES!!! One time from a 20 roll...and once from a dead stop. The time from a 20 roll we were even through the top of first....shifted to second...door to door...and he just stared pulling...he had about 1.5-2 cars on my by the time we hit 100.....I was amazed!

So then we ran from a light....I got about a car jump out of the light...and pulled maybe another car in first....he then proceeded to reel me in...and by 90 mph he was passing me like I wasn't moving....WTF!!!!!

before you guys go saying I don't know how to drive or shift...take into consideration that I've been to the track...and ran mid 14's N/A like most modded 5-speeds should...I DO know how to drive...ask anybody in the midwest forum who has been to a chicago meet....

I wanna know WTF happened here.....if his car is really faster...than he has a low 14 second 4th gen AUTO with only intake and y-pipe...and that's unheard of...hell a HIGH 14 second auto is unheard of.

Maybe you forgot to release your parking brake?

Seriously, maybe there's something wrong with your car. No way an automagic should beat you with just intake and ypipe.

Best thing to do is to run him again and see what happen. Maybe it's just one of those days/nights?

yea...maybe...but no more than 5 minutes later I ran his brother is a MODDED 5th gen 5-speed...and we were dead even...I HIGHLY doubt something is wrong with BOTH the 5-speeds in question here....

You ever raced the 99SE-L auto before this time? What was the result if you did race him?

Very weird, I can't come up with an explanation. You sure all he had was an intake and ypipe? He must be one of the fastest NA auto if he is as fast as you say he is.

I raced him a while back when he had just intake...and I had a little trouble pulling on him...but I prolly pulled on him about like he pulled on me today...I have NOS...and I know what to look for...he DOESN'T have it.

and NO I didn't use NOS when i raced him....he would have been toast...

Hm...if no NOS, then he got to have more mods than just an intake and ypipe. If not, then I would sure love to hear from him how he did it.

he claims his car is a factory freak....cuz he can beat his brothers modded 5th gen 5-speed...and my modded 4th gen 5-speed....he did race a modded 95 auto last spring and pulled on him....and we always wondered how he did it....

Well, that could explains it. They are a few auto factory freaks on this board too. Medicsonic and Deezo come to mind. Too bad mine isn't one.

Still though, factory freak or not, pulling on a modded 5spd 4th gen is impressive.

Hey Brian, first off let me say I'm sorry for not contacting you in Colorado, but my phone died short after I got off the phone with you on New Year's eve. Second I want a crack at this guy just not on the street, because for a Wheaton cop got me for speeding this morning so I refuse to go fast on the road for some time now. Hey let's take everyone to the track and I'll find a way to beat him. Better yet lets get Neal to race him. The way Neal get's things done none of us have a chance. I'll call you soon as I get cought up with my crap. I hate going to school and working, too much stuff to do! Take care!

As I have said before and will say again, on the street the tranny means little. I can pick a situation where a stock auto can beat a SCed manual. Just have to have the right settings.

his car was CLEARLY faster than both my 5-speed and MAX2000JP's 5-speed...the only way I can see a stock auto being able to beat a S/Ced 5-speed is either on a slippery surface or the 5-speed driver's first time behind the wheel of a manual automobile.

And they say the badges don't add anypower. Let's not forget that we have a badge on the front doors that's probably good for at least 10hp.

What does MAX2000JP (with intake and y-pipe) run at the track including 60' and trap speed? You say your car isn't running up to par and it possible MAX2000JP car isn't either. What does Chi99Limited run at the track including 60' and trap? Please post up the numbers.

What does he run at the track to back that dyno up? As we know there are varied dyno number coming out from various shops across north america. He should be running mid 14's with that power! That is 2k2 (heavier) auto power!

And they are equal on the street? I assume Brian's car is now slower than when he ran that 14.5? MAX2000JP trap speed seems low?? And that is his best run?

He was the original MegaMax. His board name is now Jeff K. He has a 5th gen now.

He ran 14.3 NA on his 5spd 4th gen back in the day.
