I'm thinking that I should put an Alpine Reciever/CD Changer (1 DIN)in place of the Bose Double Din Head Unit I have now and then eventually install two rows of three gauges below the DIN stereo unit.
One where the door is. I never use that at all!

I went to the junk yard and got the entire mounting brackets from another Maxima on Friday (for 20.00 bucks) and now I can design the setup I want without disturbing my dash until I'm ready.

Oil Pressure----Water Temp----Voltmeter

Oil Temp------Fuel Pressure---Exhaust Temp

Then, I thought I'd eventually setup the spare Maxima dash in my garage with the entire Bose System for sounds in the garage...with a Maxima Console rigged up and ready to shine with an AC/DC converter.

You should put the head unit in the din slot for the tray - that way the 6 gauges would take up the bose space and would be all grouped together. That would be hot. =)

That is a really good idea!

The only question I would worry about would be if the Head Unit ends up being to low in the dash to be ergonomic, i.e. could you reach the controls and insert CDs with no problem.

Questions on the Autometer Gauge Install:

Where are you wiring the gauge lights into the electrical system?

Where are you wiring the voltmeter into the system?

Will the Autometer Ultralite gauges be white at night when lit?

Could you make them white with blue tint somehow?

Thanks in advance for any tips you might be able to give me.
