Yep. The Japanese company making these airbags found the problem went back further than first realized. BMW, Toyota, Honda, Ford, Chrysler, Mazda, etc, will also have to re-evaluate the situation, and issue additional recalls for this problem.
At least these recalls are being handled in some fashion. I have friends with GM vehicles who are three months into trying to get recalled parts (such as the extremely dangerous ignition switch problem) replaced, and being told it will be three to six more months before parts will be available. In the meantime, if their key falls out of the ignition switch slot (and many have done just that), the motor shuts off, leaving no meaningful steering, no meaningful brakes, no airbags and no hope.
