good size for wheels
hey guys,
this is kind of a continuation of a thread i read earlier regarding tires (http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?threadid=92753)
i was hoping to pay around $120 a tire, but i guess i'm just a cheap bastard! LOL
if the stock SE 17's are an odd size, what's a nice wider wheel size where tires sizes are more popular? 17x8? or 17x7.5? i don't want to have to have too few a selection and too much $$ involved in 17x8.5. i know the larger/wider the tire, the WAY HIGHER the cost. i just want something that's not going to be hard to find and be wider than the stock 17's.
anything that's at least 17 and wider than 7?
thanks.

17x7.5" is the minimum "official" width to run a 235/45/17 tire, which gives you lots of choice. Alternatively you could always just run 225/45/17 on your stock rims (a tiny bit shorter) or risk putting the wider tires on them.
OR, if you like Nitto, they make a 225/50/17 tire....

Good luck, and make sure it has an appropriate offset - sometimes one model of wheel can come in different offsets, like +40 or +30 (the Konig Tantrum comes to mind).

18's look very good but are def. 2 heavy in my opinion if i was to do it all over i would go for proformace so i would say a light weight wide 17. i think the weight should def. be factored in along with the size, some of those rims are just so damn heavy.
