Home Depot body kit?

Home Depot body kit?
All right guys, don't laugh.
This idea suddenly popped up in my head. Maybey I could get some
material from Home Depot and make a body kit and just paint it at
a body shop. I'm not talking about one of those full blown kits that replace the front and the rear bumpers.
I'm talking about a subtle kit, kinda like the AE kit that extends the bottom of the car a few inches. An ideal material would be long pieces of thin flexible plastic that is about 4~5 inches wide and about 8 feet long. (one example: plastic gutter material?)
Cut it out to the the length of the side and just attach it on the bottom of the side sills. The front and the back would be more challenging. But it would be relatively easy to do.
Maybe this is just a real stupid idea. I need to start saving up for the AE kit.

Oh, after making the part, you would have to take it to a body shop and have it painte and installed.

Yup. I'm gonna really do it.
I'm pretty serious about this.
I consider myself VERY handy. I'm sure I can do it.
I'll post pics. I'm dropping my car with the Maxspeed springs, so if my idea works, my Max should look AWESOME1
go home depot!

do yourself a favor man.. if your lookin to save money order those universal side skirts from jc whiteny and stick em on there.. personally i cant see how you'll save yourself money after all is said and done. after you buy your supplies, and the time and effort you spend on each peice,i dont see you comin out ahead of the game.. if you feel confident enough if yourself to do it then go ahead and try. but remember that sanding alone will take countless hours.. another consideration would be this, the money you spend on this can be the start of your body kit fund. dont take the teasing personally. its just that we dont want to see you waste your time and money.. if your gonna go for it then the best of luck. let us know how u make out.

I could waste a good week doing this but I do not have the time to devote.

It seems like paper mache made from paste and newspaper would be much easier to work with.
Also, consider the wind forces pushing against these surfaces - the pieces must be strong.
I say you just use a blowtorch and try to melt/stretch the existing plastic pieces downward. Surely you could get a few inches out of them.
