Just got back from the drag strip.

I got back from the drag strip just now. It's a very mediocre facility. Elevation 662', humidity medium, wind 15-25 blowing right in your face... not good for top end. The right lane was useless, I don't understand why. Every single time I was in the right lane I spun 2nd gear all the way to redline. WTF?

Anyways, highlights of the day include:

Beating a FULLY modded CL-S. Intake, exhaust, V-AFC, Comptech headers, UDP, who knows what else. He said his car wasn't running well, and I believe him. I would think they would normally trap much higher than he did. He ran a 14.898 @ 93.55 with a 2.26 60' to my dismal 14.71 @ 94.90 with a 2.28 60'.

Barely losing to a Supercharged GSR running a smaller pulley (8lb vs 6lb). My best run of the day. I ran a 14.50 @ 95.12 with a 2.20 60' to his 14.26 @ 98.23 with a 2.28 60'. Basically I pulled a car on him off the line and he reeled me back in at the far end.

Beating a fellow nissan, a stock 200SX. He ran a 17.4 or something.

Ran down a what I assume was a juiced V6 Firebird on slicks. No way an LT1 or LS1 would be trapping at only 92.5 mph.

Got my a$$ kicked by a pair of Lightnings. There were 5 or 6 of them there.

Thats about all. No new record times or anything.

I got killed by two lightnings today...one ran a 12, the other ran a 13.

My friend has a '01 Lightning. 380HP, 400+lb.-ft. of torque. I got to drive it too, and I must say my max feels a little faster...it's like I wasn't moving in that thing........

Becuase the damn tires wouldn't stop spinning

wow, I wish we had a track around here like that.

I bet if it was a really cold night, there'd be some very good times (especilly higher trap speeds than normal)

I feel your pain. I didnt do great myself but i went down w/ my cousin in his Lightning & his friend w/ a BPU MKIV.

My time wasnt great but i pulled 100mph trap speeds.

My cousin ran a 12.7 w/ two 18" stock Lightning wheels in the bed, a huge jack, & a tool kit. I dont know what he was thinking, i think he just didnt want his stuff stolen.

MKIV ran a 13.2 while spinning through 1, 2, & 3.

I saw a brand new lightning drop its drive shaft right on to the track about half way down the 1/4. The guy got out and just stood there sulking for about 10 mins. while they towed his car off the track, I felt really bad for that guy, hope he can get it fixed under warranty.

I totally agree. I don't understand what the deal is with the Kansas City/Topeka tracks. They close in November and reopen in March. So much for taking advantage of cold weather to post awesome times. It's not like it gets extremely cold in Kansas during the winter months. Hell, it was 70 today. I guess they don't want to make any money.
