bad things happening please help!

Ok stuff isnt going right. I have a 99 max with 37,240 miles and i changed my stock tires and put 17"in rims after 10,000 miles. Well now my tires have cupping and i went to different places and they all told me it was the struts that caused this. Now all my tires are messed up and i need to replace the struts too. Do you guys think that maybe i could go to nissan and ask them to cover this or something. I take really good care of my car and never push it why in the world would my struts go bad? Can i put on my stock tires and go to nissan so they dont tell me it was the 17's that caused this? The place i went to told me it would be 150 for the front struts 140 for the rear shocks and 110 for labor? please help.

I can't believe a 99 with 37K on it would need struts that bad? Doesn't make sense to me. It would be riding so soft you'd be bouncing up and down like a caddy. Floating all over the road for them to be bad enough to cup all your tires. What kind of tires were they? El Cheapo's?? I think you get crappy tires.

thats what i am saying to myself my ride is PERFECT just like when i bought my car so i dont know wat the deal is. I have federal tires when i bought my rims i didnt know that much bout tires and i bet they are bad tires but wat would cause them to cup is it that they are just bad. there is a possibility it might have been the tire pressure i had them at 30 psi is that too little? but i dont think its the struts its just that 2 places said it was the struts. im so confused

Something weird is going on. I have 88,000 on my struts and they are still fine.

does anyone here know about federal tires are they any good? The places i took the car too just looked at the tire and felt it and immediately said it was the struts they didnt like closely inspect them. So now im guessing its just that the tires are bad or too little tire pressure 30 psi?

It's not tire pressure. I have never heard of federal tires so I don't know anything about them. When cupping occurs it is usually a balance issue or the struts. Struts can go bad in 30K, but it sounds like this is pretty extreme to be just struts (they shouldn't be that bad). Maybe it's a combination of a balance issue (was the ride smooth?) and poor quality tires or tired struts. I'd be leaning more towards a tire issue though. Have the tires been on the car for the whole 10K miles and how old are they. If you bought them recently they might still be covered by warranty. I'd complain to the place you bought them from.

swap back the stock rims and tires then take it to the dealer get them to replace the struts... I think you just might have missed the warranty, I forgot if Nissans warranty is 3/36 or 3/40 or something, cuz it wont be covered under the powertrain warranty...

it sounds like alignment issues or the rims you have- what kinda rims do you have whats the offset?

i have had the tires on for 27,000 miles. On wednesdayi am going to take them to another place and aske them to take of the wheels and closely inspet the struts to see if they are causing the problem, if it is the struts then i will try my luck and put my stockers back on and take it to nissan to see if they replace them, if its not the struts then i guess it is just that the tires are bad.
