CAI freezing?

I'm considering getting a CAI when I gather the money. However, I spend around half the year driving my car in cold weather/snow/sleet and such, and was wondering the likelyhood of water getting to the filter (since it's right in the wheel well) and freezing the filter in the cold weather, thereby making the filter useless.
Is that just being overcautious? Or should I wait for something like Frankencar's Stage 3?

I've had my CAI for almost a year now...I drive in Colorado...plenty of snow, hail, wetness all around...I haven't had any problems at all with water getting to the filter...
