my dyno day results

here are the SAE corrected numbers (the acutal numbers were higher)

They are about what I would have expected from my car (but I was hoping for 180).

What I tested here was the trick I have used where I remove the hose from the fuel pressure regulator so that the car is given more fuel through the entire range. The red line is with the regulator in the normal position and the blue line is with it removed. This shows that it really does nothing (the 1hp gain can be attributed to normal variation.) So I guess it does not work Oh well, its good to know for sure now.

so, what do you guys think?

yeah, this was from yesterday... I guess if the numbers are a little low then it just says that much more about my driving skills. I just wanted anything over 170 so I'm happy overall.

Your numbers are pretty surprising. I was hoping to see a little more hp and a bit more tq out of your car. Your car is heathly though. Those numbers are pretty typical. It just goes to show that good driving goes a long way.

I was too. BTW, do yourself a favor and get rid of that silly Top speed:>140 from your sig. Most of us here can do it.

I think your numbers are pretty good, but your time shows that your suspension work is really helping you put down the power that you have, in the best manner possible. Your driving skill is a key ingredient of course

I really don't think there's such a thing as a "factory freak" Maxima. The machining tolerances are so close on these cars that the only real difference in performance between each car is it's driver and running condition. Nearly every single 5 speed 4th gen with a intake, y-pipe, and catback seems to put down 170-175fwhp and 185-190fwtq. Sure, there are a few supposed factory freak 4th gens that have put down 180+fwhp and 195+fwtq, but for some odd reason thier ets and trap speeds aren't remotely close to to the "lesser" cars. IMO, those cars weren't dynoed correctly.

There's a a guy here in Montgomery that I believe has a factory freak.

The night that I was running 15.4 all night, he and I raced on the street. I have a 95 GXE auto, I had my stereo out, OSCAI, and the gas light was on.

He had a 97 GXE auto with 3/4 tank gas, cone filter, and a box with 2 12's in the trunk.

We raced from a roll and were dead even from 40 - 110.

Freaky.
