How to drive in parking lots.

In such an area where there are scores of pedestrians and moving and parked cars it is common sense not to attempt to perfect your 1-2 powershift, to improve your 0-60mph time, put a few more mph on your slalom, or a couple more hundredths to your skidpad numbers.
In addition, the lanes are there for a reason - use them.

Sorry, had to vent.

I agree. I am always amazed at how fast people drive in parking lots. Don't they know that people can't see THROUGH other cars?

BTW In before the lock.

I refer specifically to the parking lot of mall near my house - it is nutz!

A good portion of the lot is never filled, so people find it convenient to divert from the designated lane and cut diagonally through the nearly empty lot to save oodles of time. It usually works - until they slam into the car that is puuling out of its spot or rolling ldown the lanes.

I'm basically at a roll of about 5 mph when I enter lots. I don't want any problems with the non-drivers out there.

I usually don't use any gas at all in a crowded parking lot. I believe parking lots are where the most accidents happen even though they are usually only minor.

Yea, I'd like to shoot the person who designed one of the local shopping center parking lots around me. Every stop is a 4-way so everyone stops and looks at eachother and no one knows who should go. Plus there are so many cars that it gets all backed up. I stay clear of there unless I have to.

Just my $0.02.

Later,
-Nick

Let's not forget neighborhoods where there are small children playing around. Hurt a kid because of your stupidity and it can ruin your life. They can theoretically sue you for damages that show up later until they are 18.

There is a strip mall near me with a Kmart, Grocery Store, Staples, Liquor stor and a whole lot more. That becomes the local 1/4 for some kids later on at night but every now and then they start way to early. Like before employees have left and stuff. When I used to work there I haev seen a few people almost get picked off walking to thier cars.

Also,
For the visually impaired;

If the arrow is pointing away from you, towards the direction your car is heading, please proceed into the lane.
If the arrow is pointing towards you, please use the next lane.
Please advise.

What happens if those kids are 12 year old PUNKS who think I drive up to them to watch them play basketball in the middle of the god damn street? Yes, I turned onto the street on which I live on to stop my car in the middle of the road untill they finish this round of BASKTEBALL. I KNOW YOU SEE ME YOU LITTLE SHIIT. ARE YOU WATING FOR ME TO HONK? GO TO A GOD DAMN BASKETBALL COURT.

Hmm?

What about the kids that think its cool to let me pass, but then WALK BACK INTO THE ROAD AS CLOSE TO MY CAR AS POSSIBLE??? its like they're thinking " HEY! LETS SEE HOW CLOSE WE CAN GET WITHOUT GETTING HIT BY THE CAR?!?!" let see what happens when I run over your GOD DAMN FOOT YOU LITTLE INGRATE! you will wait untill I pass to resume your BASKTEBALL PLAYOFFS. MICHAEL JORDAN WILL NOT BE VISITING YOU TODAY.

I hate kids lately, NO RESPECT FOR ANYTHING! They hit cars, DONT TELL ANYONE, PRETEND ITS NOTHING. THEY TALK BACK TO ELDERS, disrespect everything. AND THEY THINK THEY ARE ****ING INVINCIBLE!

I'm only 17, but I was brought up to understand that if a car is approaching, I get out of the way because that person cannot be trusted with my life. Will he stop? Or will he run my *** over?

But most of all, I was taught that if I was going to play basketball, I will go to the local basketball court.

I love people who put up those stupid hoops on their garages. Especially when their garages are SLANTED. Best part is, MY CAR IS RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET. Im watching you, waiting. I have my window open, my bat is ready. I will strike as soon as you touch my car. You will learn to walk to the basketball court, five minutes away from your house. litte ingrates.

thank you.

I agree, when i was a little kid, i would always give myself a lot of distance between me and any moving vehicle. Only when i started driving did i realize that drivers can't see you at all if it's at night and you aren't wearing anything reflective or carrying flashlight. I'm glad I was fearful of cars coming at me, just gave me that much more of a chance to go through life unscathed, as for soccer practice, that's another story.
