Ever clean the throttle body? What did you do in your tuneup?

If you're not 'Mechanically inclined', take it to a dealer. But cleaning a throttle body is easier than even changing the oil.

After you clean your TB, I'd recommend doing an ECU self-diagnostic. check out http://www.maximadriver.com. The instructions are in the 'How2' section, under 'ECU Diagnostic/Reset '. It's really easy.

Materials: Throttle Body Cleaning Solution, Rags, Flat head screwdriver, friend.

1) Disconnect the accordion-style part of the Intake path by loosening the hose clamp attaching it to the throttle body. Move it off to the side and hold it out of the way with twist-ties, or just wedge it against the throttle body.

2) Have a helper get in the car and push the accelerator all the way down to open the throttle body.

3) Using the throttle body cleaner and a few rags, clean the inside of the throttle body.

4) Repeat step number 3 until it's not dirty anymore.

before you go any further, you should list what you changed or had changed. if you took it some where and paid for it to be done, there is a chance it wasnt. your problem could be as simple as a clogged fuel fliter and that something i wouldnt be suprised they would skip and just charge you for. it simple enough to do, just a pain in the *** to get at.. but anyway, list whatever you had done so itll give us a better idea..

You should really figure this out yourself. However, if your really having trouble I'll help you, I'm in NJ. But trust me, I'm mechancially disinclined, if I can do it anyone can.

Did you end up cleanign the throttle body yet? I mean this is a 3 dollar job if you do it yourself. It is very easy to do take your time if you want. But if it is gonna save you 300 or more than I would say definantly try it if it works perfect if not - you did some maintenence that could prevent more problems.
